Parent Language Intervention for Autism

You may be eligible if:

  • Your child is between 18 and 48 months of age, has an autism diagnosis or is showing signs of autism, and is not speaking in full sentences yet;
  • English is the primary language your child hears;
  • Your child’s biological mother is willing to participate in parent training; and
  • You live in the Chicagoland area.

You might receive:

  • Parent training on language support strategies for your child;
  • Therapy sessions in your home;
  • Comprehensive language assessments over a period of five months; and
  • Compensation for your time.

You may be eligible if:

  • Your child is between 1 and 5 years of age; and
  • Your child’s parent is willing to participate.

You might receive:

  • Useful information about your child’s development; and
  • Compensation for your time.

Family Studies of Language in Autism

You may be eligible if:

  • You have been diagnosed with autism or fragile X syndrome;
  • You do not have autism or fragile X syndrome;
  • Your parents, grandparents, or siblings are willing to participate; and
  • You live in or are from Iowa.

You might receive:

  • Useful information about your or your family members’ development; and
  • Compensation for your time and travel.
