A recent large-scale study identified shared molecular pathways with ASD in Schizophrenia and Bipolar disorder, with less overlap found in Depression and Alcoholism. This study highlights the shared genetic and trait overlap across major psychiatric conditions, which may contribute to an enhanced perspective on the causes of ASD, and directions for early detection and intervention.
